Here’s why I (and my kids) love these easy homemade popsicles:

- Homemade with no extra ingredients
- Naturally sweetened with no refined sugars
- Easy to make with just two ingredients
- Perfect for spring and summer as a refreshing treat
- Fun, kid-friendly treat to involve them in
- Easy to swap out fruit ingredients or add yogurt for protein

Blueberry Popsicle Ingredients
Ingredients: blueberries and honey. Optionally, you can add basil for fresh herb flavor.
How to Make Blueberry Ice Pops
- Place blueberries and honey in a blender or a food processor.
- Turn on high and blend until the mixture is smooth, about 1-2 minutes.
- Pour the popsicle mixture into popsicle molds and place the wooden popsicle sticks in about ¾ way down.
- Place in the freezer for at least 3 hours to set. Then enjoy!
Recipe Variations
- Add protein: For extra protein and a creamier texture, add Greek yogurt or vanilla yogurt to this recipe. Use equal parts yogurt and blueberries.
- Other fruit: If you don’t have blueberries on hand, or prefer a different flavor, substitute with cherries, raspberries, blackberries, or even peaches.
- Add lemon juice and zest, or basil for extra flavor.
Recipe FAQs
The process to make these blueberry popsicles only takes about 15 minutes to get them to the freezer. Once you have them in the molds, which takes about 15 minutes, you’ll place them in the freezer for 3 hours.
The secret to removing these blueberry popsicles from the molds easily is by running them under warm water for a few seconds before pulling them out of the mold.
Tip the molds sideways and run the popsicle you want out under the warm water for about 10 seconds. Gently pull on the stick to loosen. If it doesn’t come out easily, run it under the water for a few more seconds!
To make popsicles creamy instead of icy, you need to add fat, sugar, or a stabilizer to prevent ice crystals from forming. We’re using sugar in the form of honey because it lowers the freezing point and keeps them softer. Adding in a fat like greek yogurt or full fat coconut milk adds a creamy, rich effect.
