Hot Honey Margarita

This Hot Honey Margarita is the perfect mix of sweet, spicy, and citrusy. Made with tequila, orange liqueur, fresh lime juice, and a drizzle of hot honey, it’s shaken over ice and topped with light ginger beer for a little fizz. The Tajin and honey rim adds a bold kick, making it the ultimate summer (or anytime) sip with a spicy twist.

Ingredients

  • 1 ounce silver/blanco tequila
  • 1 ounce orange liqueur Cointreau, or Grand Marnier
  • 1 ounce fresh lime juice (about 1 lime), plus lime wedge to garnish
  • 1 Tablespoon hot honey
  • Ice
  • Light ginger beer
  • Rim: hot honey and Tajin

Instructions 

  • Rim the margarita glass (optional): Dip the rim of the rocks glass in hot honey then in Tajin or coarse salt. Fill with ice.

  • Place the tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice, and hot honey in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well and strain into the prepared glass. Taste and add more hot honey as needed. Garnish with a lime wedge.
