This 10 minute air fryer asparagus is a healthy side dish to add flavorful veggies to any meal. The air fryer crisps the outsides for a crunchy exterior and tender, soft middle.
1lbasparaguswashed and woody ends trimmed (Note 1)
1tablespooonsolive oil, avocado oil, or melted coconut oil(Note 2)
1/2teaspoonkosher salt
1/2teaspoongarlic powder(Note 3)
1/4 teaspoonblack pepper
2tablespoonsparmesan cheese or nutritional yeast (dairy-free option)optional
INSTRUCTIONS
Wash the asparagus and pat the stalks dry with a paper towel. Cut the tough woody ends off the ends of the asparagus.
Place the asparagus in a large bowl and drizzle with oil and top with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Place the asparagus in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Sprinkle with cheese if using.
Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 7-8 minutes for medium asparagus stalks, pausing to stir or shake the basket halfway through. Thinner asparagus will take 5-7 minutes and thicker asparagus will take 8-10 minutes. Be careful not to overcook or the asparagus can become mushy. Serve warm.

Note 1. Asparagus. Asparagus stalks come in varying sizes, from very thin to much thicker. It took 8 minutes to perfectly cook the asparagus you see in the pictures.Note 2. Oil. You can also use cooking spray, but it can damage and chip the air fryer. Invest in an oil mister if you prefer to spray your food in the air fryer.Note 3. Garlic powder.
