Elote Seasoning Recipe

Want to make the viral elote-style flavor at home? This homemade elote seasoning is smoky, salty, cheesy, and just the right amount of sweet and spicy. It's perfect sprinkled on grilled corn, popcorn, veggies, grilled meats, tacos, or even avocado toast. It comes together in 5 minutes with everyday pantry spices.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 Tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 Tablespoon parmesan cheese or cotija cheese
  • 1 Tablespoon cane sugar brown sugar, or coconut sugar
  • 3 teaspoons cumin
  • 1 Tablespoon dried cilantro
  • 1/4 teaspoon chipotle powder

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Mix all of the ingredients together in a small bowl until combined. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
    2 teaspoons kosher salt, 1 Tablespoon chili powder, 1 Tablespoon parmesan cheese or cotija cheese, 1 Tablespoon cane sugar, 3 teaspoons cumin, 1 Tablespoon dried cilantro, 1/4 teaspoon chipotle powder
  • Use on your favorite Mexican recipes or classic Elote (grilled corn) with mayo, lime juice, lime zest, and cotija cheese.
