Gingerbread Snowflake Cookies

Flour

What You Need:

Baking Soda

Salt

Gingerbread Spices

Butter

Molasses

Brown Sugar

Egg

Vanilla

Wet Ingredients

Beat butter and brown sugar together for 2-3 minutes. Add the molasses, egg, and vanilla and beat again for 1-2 mins.

Dry Ingredients

Whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, all spice and cloves.

Make the Dough

Slowly add the dry ingredients and beat until combined, being careful not to over mix.

Chill

Gently press the dough out into 2 disks wrap them in plastic wrap. Chill for at least 2 hours or up to 3 days.

Roll Out

Remove  the dough and turn it out onto a floured surface. Use a rolling pin to roll the dough out to 1/4 inch thickness.

Cut Out

Cut out the dough into snowflake shapes and place 1-2 inches apart on a large baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake

Bake  for 9-11 minutes, until just set and the bottom edges of the cookies turn a light golden brown.

Decorate

Use white royal icing to get creative and make snowflake designs on each cookie.
