This recipe gives me all the feels.

    kielbasa-homemade-applesauce

Warm, comforting delicious feels that remind me of family and the holidays.

homemade-applesauceI know what you’re thinking, homemade applesauce and kielbasa seems like a strange combo. I thought so too when I first tasted this app at the Shew household. But trust me, this recipe does not disappoint.

Homemade applesauce can sound a bit daunting of a task, but I promise it’s worth it. It’s like pure love and joy go into this hearty dish. Especially since the kielbasa part is so simple. You literally buy it from the store and cut it up. That’s it.

    homemade-cinnamon-applesauce

Chelsea’s mom was throwing a Christmas party for their neighbors when I first tasted this. I instantly fell in love and I’m pretty sure I stood by the counter and ate the entire thing without moving. That's socially acceptable, right?

I loved it so much I had her make a bulk batch for my graduation party.  Yes, I served this warm and wintery dish in the middle of summer because I love it that much. And everyone who came loved it too.

At the Leonard Thanksgiving we try so hard to eat  around 3 or 4 and somehow we always end up eating at like 7. So appetizers are a must. I made this dish last year as a pre-dinner app and the entire crock pot disappeared in minutes.

There’s just something about the cinnamon and apple flavors with the kielbasa on top of the salty and buttery cracker that makes people keep coming back for more.

    Kielbasa and Homemade Applesauce

The homemade applesauce is made with orange and cinnamon. It's cooked for a couple of hours and stirred with kielbasa. The perfect pre-dinner snack!
