Hi! My name is Molly.
About a year ago I started writing a food blog called What Molly Made, right around the same time I became a social media strategist as my full time (9-5) job at IBM. On any given day I work directly with reps from each social channel, including Pinterest, and have had the opportunity to build strategies for large CPG brands. Needless to say, I love both of my jobs!
As bloggers, most people don’t realize the amount of hats we have to wear. Writer, photographer, graphic designer, project manager AND social media strategist?! When I first started my blog, my readers consisted of my mom and a few select friends. I still remember how thrilled I was when I got 25 visitors to my site. I quickly realized just how important a strong knowledge of social media is.
If I was going to increase my traffic and reach more people I knew I needed a strong social media presence. And I knew Pinterest was the best place to start. I started gathering all of my knowledge of Pinterest from what I’ve learned at work, through other bloggers, conferences as well as self guided research. I started implementing simple posting strategies, following an editorial calendar, using analytics to see what my audience was interested in and so much more.
As a result, I now gain 15 new followers a day and have doubled my traffic from Pinterest in less than a year!
This has led me to lots of monetization opportunities, growing my blog and connecting with more readers on a daily basis.
There’s no doubt in my mind that this success was a direct result of the strategies I’ve written in this book. I’ve learned so many things—both big and small—in the last few years. And this eBook is my way of sharing it with all of you!
